PROJECTS Gawad Kalinga appeal Early this year, EaglesBlue completed a fund-raiser to provide material for one house for a poor family in the town of Real, Quezon, Philippines, under the international appeal of Gawad Kalinga. It was an answer to a call for assistance which the Australian chapter of Ateneo alumni heard and responded to.
Meantime, there is a proposal to issue another call to fund another house. Ms Andres will make an announcement if there are members to support the project further. Members who contributed to the first appeal were: Kate Andres, Vangie Leones, Mario Almario, Perry Enriquez, Cesar Bigornia, Evelyn Opilas, Ed Noche, Obet Dionisio and Jaime Pimentel. # ______________________________________ Ateneo university appeal
EaglesBlue president Kate Andres is now in the process of calling for a special appeal to assist the senior students of Ateneo de Manila who may have to drop out before graduation because of difficulties with tuition and other expenses. #

Andres, who was also chairwoman of the Gawad Kalinga appeal in Australia,
personally delivered the group's contribution and took part in ground-breaking
at the site (Ms Andres is pictured third from left at the site).
Also
early this year, the Ateneo de Manila University rector Ben Nebres called
on alumni to help stem the growing number of senior college students
dropping out before graduation for financial reasons.
